TEMA 2019: La Argentina que se viene

Politeia te invita a la sexta edición de Thinking Argentina, un ciclo de conferencias para estudiantes de grado/posgrado y graduados. La edición 2019 tendrá como eje el tema “la Argentina que se viene” y contará con la presencia de destacados invitados del mundo académico y de la política. El evento es gratuito y abierto a estudiantes universitarios y graduados de todas las carreras interesados en la política.
Do I have to be a Political Science or International Relations student to take part?
No! The event is aimed primarily at undergraduate students interested in academic perspectives on Political Science and International Relations, but you do not need to be studying those subjects to take part. Students from any field are welcome: from historians to future vets or civil engineers. You can also take part as a graduate student, or as a recent graduate or young professional.
Is the event free, or is there a fee?
Taking part in the Conference is free. Lunch, however, is at the participant’s own expense.
Will there be workshops this year?
No. While earlier editions of PensARG included them workshops, en 2019 nos enfocaremos completamente en charlas plenarias. No te preocupes: tendrás muchas oportunidades para hacer preguntas e interactuar con los integrantes de paneles.
Where will the Conference take place?
The event takes place on the campus of the University of San Andrés. The address is Vito Dumas 284, Victoria. Si resultás seleccionado para participar, deberás traer tu DNI para poder ingresar. La Universidad mantiene una página que explica how to get there by public transport.
¿La Conferencia dura un solo día?
Sí. Debido a las restricciones impuestas por el año electoral y el calendario académico, la edición 2019 se desarrollará en un solo día en noviembre. Esta Conferencia, al igual que todos los eventos y actividades de Politeia, es organizada completamente por estudiantes.
What should or can I bring?
Si te confirmamos tu participación, lo único que necesitás traer es tu DNI (o pasaporte para extranjeros), que deberás usar para ingresar al campus. (Los estudiantes de UdeSA ingresan con su credencial). Podés traer teléfonos y cámaras de foto, aunque Politeia se reserva el derecho de prohibir cualquier dispositivo en determinadas charlas. También, como explica la pregunta de abajo, podés traer tu comida para el almuerzo.
What lunch options will be available?
Participation does not include lunch, but participants may buy sandwiches or hot dishes at the university cafeteria. Cash, Visa debit and credit, and MercadoPago are accepted. You may also bring your own food and heat it in a microwave.
I am coming from elsewhere in the country or from abroad. Can you help fund my travel or accommodation?
Politeia y la Universidad de San Andrés no pueden ofrecer transporte ni alojamiento a los participantes. Sin embargo, si venís del interior y necesitás un lugar para quedarte, podés escribirnos un email con anticipación a politeia@udesa.edu.ar y quizá podamos ayudarte a encontrar alojamiento en la zona.
I am an academic (including UdeSA faculty) or a professional and I would like to attend the talks. Can I sign up?
The Conference is aimed at students and recent graduates, but if you would like to take part or attend a particular talk you can write to us at politeia@udesa.edu.ar. University faculty are welcome to attend the talks, but for their own comfort we recommend letting us know in advance so that we can reserve space in the rooms.
